They seek to provide an open, relaxed and agile space for conversation, listening, learning and exchange of knowledge. Through a monthly, online, 55-minute event, we address specific topics that contribute to generate new perspectives for the implementation of the Mission in Spain.

This activity seeks to coordinate joint communication and advocacy actions between the cities.

The European Commission has adopted the mission approach within its research, development and innovation program for 2021-2027 (Horizon Europe). It thus aims to achieve three objectives that have not been completed in previous programs:

Responding to the most relevant social challenges

• Have a greater impact on the solution of these challenges
• To involve non-conventional research actors (mainly citizens, but also SMEs, civic associations, startups and cities).

To this end, five mission areas have been established in which work will be carried out over the next decade, including the "100 climate-neutral cities" mission. This mission aims to support and promote urban transformation to accelerate compliance with the Paris Agreement and Agenda 2020, and to become both a catalyst and an exemplary element of the European Green Pact.

• The Cities Mission sets the challenge of achieving climate neutrality in at least 100 European cities by 2030.
